The National Coalition of Pharmaceutical Distributors (NCPD) represents and promotes the value of small and independent pharmaceutical distributors with respect to legislatures, regulatory organizations, manufacturers, dispensers, and the community at large. Through rigorous advocacy and education, NCPD provides a venue for its members to exchange industry knowledge, ideas and best practices to further enhance the value of the healthcare supply chain and to uphold public safety.

Since 2006, the National Coalition of Pharmaceutical Distributors (NCPD) has worked tirelessly on behalf of the small and independent distribution industry – YOUR industry!

NCPD is recognized by federal and state lawmakers and other stakeholders within the pharmaceutical industry as the only advocacy organization exclusively representing the interests of the small distributor. From the halls of Congress, to the capitol buildings of state legislatures, NCPD has stood up and fought for your existence at every turn.

NCPD Successes

In the three years since its inception, NCPD has enjoyed tremendous success in advancing the well-being and best interests of our industry -- including:

Federal Recognition

NCPD has been invited to the negotiating table to represent the interests of our industry during negotiations surrounding pedigree reform legislation expected to be considered in the coming months. This is the first time our industry has spoken for itself before Congress. Because of NCPD’s input, your priorities have been factored into the development of pedigree related legislation.

State Government Participation

NCPD has played a crucial role in key states where pharmaceutical reform legislation has emerged. NCPD representatives have testified before the following state legislatures and have enjoyed tremendous success.

California
Testifying before the State Legislature, NCPD was instrumental in ensuring that California’s sweeping pedigree legislation protected the right of small distributors to operate.

Texas
NCPD and its Texas members were instrumental in helping to pass legislation that would allow our sector to participate within the “normal supply chain” distribution channels.

Maryland
NCPD was responsible for recently enacted legislation, which slashed the state’s surety bond requirement in half!

Legal Advocacy
NCPD members have participated in federal court to help block the harmful proposed pedigree rule.

Media and Industry Outreach
For the first time, there exists an aggressive and coordinated effort to highlight the importance of our sector within media circles and among our larger counterparts within the pharmaceutical industry.
